Pond Location (Seating for up to 6)

Service Description

Our shaded pond seating area is right beside the pond next to the dam wall, close to the spillway where you can listen to the peaceful sounds of the waterfall and waterfowl. The ducks and geese are quite fun to watch with their different personalities and routines. You may choose a morning or an afternoon session. Bring a picnic and your favorite drink, a soft musical instrument such as a guitar or flute, a good book, knitting, a blanket and pillow, or whatever you need to make this YOUR special, tranquil and/or fun three-and-a-half hour experience. Many of the our animals are Endangered Breeds as defined by the Livestock Conservancy. Watch them free-range on our 18-acre farm. Some may even visit you. If they become a nuisance, just let us know and we will secure them in another area of the farm. We will provide floating treats that you can throw into the water to the birds, but ask that you not feed them anything else. If more than one person is coming, we ask that you be respectful of the others on the farm and their need for quiet and space. We will show you areas where you are permitted to walk, but we ask that you stay away from any of the dwellings and other permanent structures on the farm. We also ask that you respect the privacy of others who are trying to 'find their zen'. If you want to have a brief tour and meet our critters, that must be coordinated separately and will be an additional fee. We welcome everyone to the Farm, but reserve the right to expel anyone who is not following the guidelines of this time and/or who is being loud and bothering others. We will not tolerate obnoxious or lewd behavior. This is not a place for that. Our animals and birds are to be treated with kindness and respect. If you have an issue with one of our critters, you are to contact us at once and not attempt to deal with it yourself. PETS AND/OR FIREARMS OR OTHER WEAPONS OF ANY KIND ARE NOT ALLOWED. SMOKING IS NOT ALLOWED. If you bring an alcohol beverage, you must be at least 21 years of age or older. Thornfield Heritage Farm and its owners accept no responsibility for how much you consume or your state of sobriety when you leave our property. We will be available to call an Uber, if needed. Smoking of any kind is not allowed anywhere on the farm. Lastly, we ask that you be sure to clean up your area before you leave. Please do not leave behind any trash or litter.
