Petting Farm Tour Information
With a Thornfield Heritage Farm tour, you will get close and personal to our favorite four-legged critters: Valais sheep, kunekune pigs, Nigerian Dwarf goats, Great Pyrenees dogs, and our favorite, Netherland Dwarf bunnies. All are free-range, except the bunnies, which live freely and happily outdoors within our fenced orchard. You will be able to walk among them as well as sit and hold them. The baby bunnies are especially fun to watch and hold!

In addition, we have the following Endangered Breeds of waterfowl: Silver Appleyard ducks, African Dewlap geese, and Cotton Patch geese.

Tours are limited to a maximum of 12. We ask that there be at least one adult for every two children under the age of 13. PLEASE RESERVE ONE TICKET FOR EACH ADULT AND CHILD TWO YEARS OF AGE AND OLDER. The count is important because our wagon ride comfortably accommodates 12.

Tours lasts approximately two hours and are FREE! We want EVERYONE who loves animals and wants to spend some time on a peaceful country farm to have that opportunity. We could not offer this unique and fun experience without financial support from our visitors who can afford to contribute. 100% of contributions are used toward animal feed costs and veterinary expenses, which can exceed $1000 per month in the summer and even more in the winter as animals require more feed supplementation. We are so grateful to those who can make a contribution. We accept cash or Venmo. My Venmo profile is @carterperry9988 and has a photo of Pork Chop, one of our favorite critters, whom you will meet on your tour.

During the summer, you are encouraged to bring something to drink. It does get hot, although it isn't too bad in the orchard with the bunnies or down at the pond. You have natural air conditioning there when a breeze moves across the cool spring water! You are also welcome to bring snacks or a picnic to enjoy after the tour. We have a fenced area with a large open tent and picnic tables. Just please pick up afterwards and dispose of any trash in the waste receptacles inside the fenced areas.
